Clarks, Desert Kiltie £95 Clarks
The desert boot as a sandal – whoever designed this deserves a medal. This is such a cute alternative to the standard sandal and we love it!

Schuh, Dreamboat Flamingo £18 Schuh
Flamingo’s, palm trees, even if you are not at the beach this summer, dress like you live in some MTV Miami crib. Pretend you spend your life by the pool etc and wear these with a pina colada in hand.

Marks & Spencer, Michael Van Der Ham for M&S £25
M&S have teamed up with hot fashion designer Michael Van Der Ham to ensure that this high street sandal, with bargain price is all about designer style. Great for smarter occasions this summer but without the hefty price tag. Equally great for packing for your holidays as they are light, flat but perfect for dressing up for the evening.

Office, Barhop Cut Out Sandal £38, Office
Just like in the winter with a black boot. A smart black sandal will be a life saver for hot days in the office. This laser cut style detail and ample foot coverage ensures that this pretty and stylish sandal is still smart for work but keeping your tootsies perfectly cool too.

Topshop, Fast Sport Sandal £52, Topshop
We love our trainers at SLiNK HQ so this to us is the perfect combination of summer sandal style and comfy trainers. The sports luxe trend is huge this season and this trainer /sandal combo is ticking all the right boxes for us. Team with trousers or shorter dresses / skirts to keep the look light and summery.

River Island, Navy Peep Toe Slingbacks, £28, River Island
Nautical is a classic summer trend and while it isn’t one of the main looks this season, there is no better time to pull off a sailor stripe or two. Navy and white is a classic summer dressing combo and great with this season’s affair with denim. These cute slingbacks are great for summer and will add a smart but relaxed vibe to your look. Plus – navy shoes – absolute needle in a haystack so when you find a pair it is worth investing. We love the boat shoe style tassel too. Cute and always a summer win, at £28 you can’t really go wrong.
Dolce Gabbana, Embellished leather, raffia & brocade sandals, £875, Net A Porter

It is essentially typical that the pair we fall in love with are the most expensive but the fashion industry has gone crazy for pom poms, raffia, brocade and embroidery this season. While you can get some high street versions that are much more credit card friendly, the real deal is this pair of embellished Dolce Gabbana sandals. They are super fun and the texture and detail means that these can be easily dressed up for the evening or paired down for an on trend casual look, let your feet do the talking.

Marni, Fussbett embellished suede slingback £800, Selfridges
Sticking with bank breaking shoes, let us show you our other pricey find. The Marni slingback. Marni accessories in any format are always on our hit list but we love the gem embellishment on these. Again, dress them up, dress them down, wear them out and enjoy them. These are a statement shoe though so keep the rest of your look a bit more muted to ensure they have their moment in the limelight.

Cos, Knotted leather sandals, £89, Cos
Simple, clean, very Cos. This is the minimalist of sandals. It feels peaceful and calm and very smart. It just feels utterly measured and serene.
We might have to get these and just put them on a book shelf.

KG Kurt Geiger, Khaki Satin Flatform Sandal, £110, ASOS
Trust KG to take something as classic as a sandal, as fashion as a platform (so achingly cool right now) and then super traditional – satin, roll them all together and this is what you get. We pretty much love these shoes.

Mango, Knot Flat Sandals, £19.99, Mango
The high street is great for fun, stylish, summer sandals and these cute Mango ones are right on point. Knotted sandals are definitely a trend for footwear this season and we saw loads on our hunt for our top 20. We love the colour mix on this pair and think they’re not just trendy but also very smart. Great for work during the summer and for flat packing on holiday.

Zara, Cross strap sandals, £15.99, Zara
The sun is shining (ok imagine it) and you are ready to rock some brights! Footwear is the easiest way to pop a bit of colour into your look for the summer. Eye popping sandals are great fun and perfect for adding a some fun to denim or other block colour looks. Zara had some great bright sandal options – it is a great way of picking out a shade in a print too and can make a whole outfit really come together. At £15.99 you might even want a couple of colours to jazz up your whole summer look.

Aldo, Clo flat sandals, £55, Aldo
We thought these Aldo Clo’s were so much fun. They reminded us of rubber bands and packs of multi coloured hair bobbles from Claire’s! But in essence they are just a cute shoe and another way of injecting lots of brights into your summer wardrobe. Great for getting into that holiday vibe.

H&M, White panelled sandal, £19.99, H&M
We would never have guessed these were from a high street retailer. Sandals are a tricky one. You either tend to be way to much in the holiday zone or firmly off to a wedding so these are a nice bridge in between. The edgy laser cut and mini block square heel ensures these have enough of a cool element and really it all comes down to how you style it. We would love to see these with some androgynous tailoring. Did out that crisp white shirt and black wide tailored trouser… perfect.

Russell & Bromley, Tiddly Pom Faux Fur Mule, £135, Russell & Bromley
A faux fur mule – this is so going to be a total man repellent – but hell they are so super cool. Bridging the gap between our high street bargains and designer finds is one of our favourite shoe gems, Russell and Bromley. Now these mules are definitely a fashion piece, after all, you won’t want to wear these to the beach or round a pool, but add to a stylish but simple ensemble and you have some footwear that will definitely get you noticed.

New Look, Tan leather tassel trim sandals, £19.99, New Look
A nod to all the festival and boho fashion trends around at the moment, these cute, tassel trim New Look shoes can inject some of those Dolce vibes into your wardrobe. Great for festivals (if the weather holds), Ibiza and general summer frolics.

Elina Linardaki, Astarte 1 embellished leather sandals, £130, Harvey Nichols
See we told you the embellishment trend in footwear was a big one. We love that these Harvey Nichols, designer sandals are under £150 and still give us enough of that catwalk look to satisfy our fashion trends need. Pom poms, glitz and some embroidery too. We might have to just splash out on these.

Missguided, Tassel front flat sandal in cobalt £20, Missguided
Not the easiest of sandal trends to pull off but this espadrille style with a bit of a gladiator vibe has definitely been growing in popularity so it was only right to ensure that a pair made it into the top 20. We absolutely love the cobalt shade and the tassels are fun and definitely on trend. Remember you can wrap and tie the way you want!

Sole Diva, Jewelled Sandal, £38, Simply Be
Want the Marni vibe without the price tag, then head to Sole Diva at Simply be for this bit of on trend snake skin print and this summery fun jewelled front. The neutral tone and on trend style of this shoe gives it a real designer finish and it will be perfect with maxi dresses and jeans alike.

Evans, Silver Gem Feather Sandal, £19.60, Evans
This silver sandal with leaf detail is really quite gorgeous. The simple detailing makes this flat sandal feel delicate and teamed with a floaty summer dress is a really soft and elegant look. But don’t be fooled, these metallic beauties will work just as well with jeans and a tee. Versatile and in the sale!
