Summer is coming and it’s all about swim over here! We are proud to announce that our friend and model Elizabeth Taylor, who was featured in last year’s Passion issue, has launched a swimwear line called Curvy Beach – plus size swimwear has basically just got 10x better. It is not her first time designing. Her Elizabeth dress and Legacy Work jewelry for Pinup Girl Clothing has been a big success so we knew her vision for Swim would be just as exciting!
Brace yourselves to free the belly button at last! Many of the fatkini styles out there now are all about the high waists and molded cups, which obviously works for a lot of women, but, Elizabeth says, “I wanted a bikini that just lays on top of your curves and works with your body, not against it.”
During the development stage we had many conversations on what would be fresh and sexy swimwear for plus size women that isn’t currently offered. We both decided that showing your belly actually is more flattering than the awkward high fat roll that so many of the “granny panty” style bottoms give you. This is why so many of us love dancing around in our bra and panties. We feel free and look better by just being us!!
It could be seen as a bold step to do a plus size string bikini but with all of the body positivity trending out there, why shouldn’t curvy women have the same options as thinner women when shopping for the beach?
Elizabeth was inspired by her favorite city Miami when she dreamt up Curvy Beach. After seeing the myriad of shops in South Beach that offer only luxury designer string bikinis she set out to do that for the women who always yearned for those but could never find one that fit.
I’m proud to announce that she has succeeded. With details like laces, ruching, and very high quality fabrics, you are bound to look stunning. My last body fears left to conquer are my scarred belly button and my sizable back fat (oh and the fact that I need a crane to lift my huge boobs up!), so I was a bit terrified to try this on. I was stunned that without underwire, the bikini top provided enough support and coverage to keep them looking pert and sexy. Also the high sides and retro V style bottoms accentuate hips and curves!
I think the pictures speak for themselves that curvy women look incredible in these styles! Use code CURVY10 for 10% off your order opening weekend!
