Boots and shoes are often filed alongside jeans when it comes for tricky items to shop for in plus sizes. Getting a wide fit boot that fits across the foot and the calf can be really difficult but they’re such a great item to have in your wardrobe and can really transform your autumn/winter wardrobe in one step.
Thankfully after years of asking and longing, wide fit boots are much more available on the high street and you can find more than just your basic black boot too. There are lots of different styles to choose from that will fit your calf measurement – hurrah, making boot shopping fun once more.

And our top tip is to always buy a back up pair if you find a great fitting boot. If you find a wide fit boot that is super comfortable, especially if it’s classic black or brown, make sure to grab a second pair of boots too so you have a back up. And if they have more than one colour, grab those too, because you should never underestimate a well fitting boot.

Don’t dismiss a short boot this season. A little biker boot is incredibly versatile and while it’s perfect for a dressed down denim look they will also look great with dresses. This is the kind of boot you can wear right through spring and into early summer too, so it is a good investment piece.
