Ahhh loungewear, some of us could probably start our own loungewear shop with the amount we’ve accumulated over the last nine months. Never did we thing we’d get so excited about a fleecey jogger or baggy hoodie. Lots of us are still working from home, or at least largely at home way more than we normally would be and that means that smart, even casual dressing has been replaced with the ultimate dressed down outfits.
Loungewear and athleisure were in truth already growing in popular pre pandemic but over the last nine months they really have taken on a whole category, vibe and life of their own.
If you’re WFH then you’re probably familiar with the mantra of ‘top half dressing’ and loungewear works particularly well for this set up.
But it isn’t just our bottoms that are fleece covered right now. Increasingly at home office environments are allowing for us to dress in a more comfortable and relaxed manner too and that means that cosy coords and more dressy knitted items are flying off the shelves and into our wardrobes too.
Plus size brands have been brilliant at jumping on and keeping pace with the trend, which means we had plenty of amazing styles to edit down and share with you.
From the hoodie and jogger combo that is great for relaxing on the sofa, to the more stylish ribbed sweater dresses that have brought a whole new meaning to our working wardrobe. There is something for all price points in this plus size loungewear bonanza.
Colourwise as we head into spring you can expect lots of pastel and neutral hues to point towards sunnier days aheads. But of course, it wouldn’t be a column from us if we didn’t smuggle in just a hint of leopard print in, because what’s a look without our favourite animal print.
Stay safe and stay cosy.

This textured, almost shearling like coord is perfect for those plummeting temperatures right now. Whether you’re snuggled up on the sofa binge watching a boxset or dashing to the shops, this pastel pink outfit has you covered.
