In Marquee Show During New York Fashion Week, Dia&Co to Unveil Four New Collections Dedicated to the Plus Size Community – and YOU can see it all via LIVE STREAM… a livestream on Yahoo Style, beginning at 6:00 pm
Part of Dia & Co’s #MoveFashionForward initiative, the new lines include designer and influencer partnerships, as well as original brands inspired by the Dia&Co community
In a ground breaking show tonight, plus size fashion hub Dia&Co will unveil the first results of its #MoveFashionForward campaign — a commitment to transform the fashion industry to better serve the 67% of American women who wear sizes 14 and up. The runway show will be the first show to be hosted at theCURVYcon, which has grown in strength and style year on year and which Dia&Co is supporting as title sponsor for 2017.
So what are they showing?
Dia&Co will reveal four new collections dedicated to the plus size community:
- nanette Nanette Lepore: The iconic brand’s first plus size collection will be available exclusively through Dia&Co in sizes 14-24. The collection includes dresses, skirts, tops and bottoms inspired by bohemian vibes, friendly environments, and distinctive feminine fits.
- Girl With Curves: Designed by Tanesha Awasthi, Dia&Co’s first influencer collaboration includes a variety of tops, skirts, dresses, denim, bottoms and outerwear, available in sizes 12-32 only at Dia&Co. Each piece expresses Awasthi’s signature classic aesthetic, designed with unapologetically confident women in mind.
- Molly & Isadora: The debut brand developed by Dia&Co, Molly & Isadora is a collection made up of contemporary classics with a twist, available in sizes 14-32. The aesthetic was inspired by one of Dia’s first customers, Molly, whose unique “pumped up casual” style became a team favorite.
- East Adeline: This French-inspired brand, available in sizes 14-32, was developed by Dia&Co in response to customer requests for bohemian looks balancing feminine sophistication with romantic detailing.
Of this exciting new launch, Dia and Co CEO and co-founder Nadia Boujarwah said…
“We launched the #MoveFashionForward campaign in February after hearing from our community that they wanted to be able to truly participate in fashion… Since then, we’ve been working with industry leaders and members of the community to identify what it will really take to create meaningful, enduring change in the fashion and retail industries…
These conversations have led to the development of a three-pillar plan to transform these industries — supply: make more stylish clothing available in sizes 14 and up, show: increase representation of plus size women, and support: leverage our resources on behalf of those in the plus size community who have been paving the way. Together with our partners, we’re working across a broad range of initiatives within each pillar. As a first step, we are proud to improve supply through these four new collections, to show diverse beauty on the runway tonight, and to support the plus size community through our title sponsorship of theCURVYcon.”
In addition to the four new collections, the runway show will feature the latest looks from several Dia&Co brand partners: long-time Dia&Co partner RACHEL Rachel Roy; the newly-launched RWN by Rawan line; the independent brand Marybelle, developed in partnership with Dia&Co; and the REBEL WILSON X ANGELS collection, launched in partnership with Dia&Co. The looks will be shown on a diverse collection of plus size models — including Marquita Pring, Precious Lee, and Liza Golden — and influencers including YouTube star Loey Lane and WWE Superstar and E! Total Divas cast member Nia Jax.
Immediately following the show, Dia&Co CEO and Co-Founder Nadia Boujarwah will discuss the larger #MoveFashionFoward initiative onstage in a panel discussion with Marquita Pring, style expert Stacy London, and supermodel Emme, moderated by Fern Mallis, founder of New York Fashion Week and former executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The sold-out runway show and panel will be available to view through a livestream on Yahoo Style, beginning at 6:00 pm. All brands featured in the runway show will be available for order through Dia&Co.
