Top 5 Plus Size Activewear Brands

It is so exciting to see so many plus size activewear pieces popping onto the market. Where we once lacked any choice, there is now at least a growing number of retailers offering plus size workout clothing. From cute printed leggings to sports bras, plus size bralettes and  fun sports tees, some of the biggest plus size clothing stores are realising that exercise is happening across a range of sizes.

We have done a round up of a few of our favourite plus size sports pieces that are out at the moment to make your workout a little more fun.

Now while some love working out, others loathe it so it is important to get your head in the game and bring that Rocky attitude. We love this boxing style hoodie, reminding us that we are Badass and need to bring some of that vibe to the gym.

Ready, Steady, Go!

There is a lot of talk about what a ‘gym body’ looks like and can, alongside the beach be a place where women especially are most self conscious but the whole point is that you are in the gym, you are working out, you are being active and it doesn’t matter what your gym body looks like, you need to be comfortable and working out in cute and appropriate sportswear. This is a great choice for adding a pop of colour.

To be honest this hoodie is super cute for the gym but we love the net details and the mix of grey with a pop of colour. This will look equally free with a pair of white jeans as it will once you’d done a great work out in it. In other words, you need it in your wardrobe.

k01kw325500sIt is essentially a little known fact that lots of designer sportswear / label sportswear brands actually go past a size 14 – annoying really when most mainstream high street and designer brands don’t. So you can actually choose to ‘fit in’ at the gym by wearing the likes of Nike if you like. These joggers go up to a size 22 and we love the colour. A gorgeous deep blue. Simply Be has a great stock of labelled sportswear brands in plus sizes.

af24parrot-2Speaking of designer activewear, check out the recently launched Anna Scholz sportswear line. If you follow Anna on instagram you will know that she is one of the leaders of the plus size activewear movement and a regular down the gym. Her recently launched plus size fitness line was in response to lack of luxury designer activewear labels catering to a plus size woman that not only wants to work out but wants to look and feel chic doing it too. Her limited lines and in house prints ensure that these are no run of the mill leggings. There are a selection of prints to choose from as well as tees, tanks and sports jackets. Fitness just got fashionable.
