Felder Felder | LFW | SS16 | Day 1

The German design duo (sisters in fact) jumped forward a decade and landed us straight into the land of 80’s super models. Big shades and deep coral lips were the order of the day and the models looked like they were ready to party at any moment. It is this fun and party aesthetic that has made these two a favourite amongst celebrities.

Kicking off their collection with silver metallic suiting and flirty a-line dresses with cut out waist details. The collection moved from reflective to sheer with ease and there were several black mesh maxis, some with sequin detailing to shield the models modesty. Fabrics went from 80’s to a more grown up and modern take on a brocade, with embellished leaf prints in ice blue and a salmon/coral as well as several pieces that teamed cream and coral together – we especially loved the flared out, two tone trouser (cream top with coral from the knee down).

While fabrics were a mix of metallic, embellished prints and a sheer mesh, there were also several inserts of black lace that had an almost broderie anglais feel to them.

Strong shoulders were key to this collections silhouette, alongside a-lines, soft flares and slimline jumpsuits. This collection was all about ushering back in that strong vibe of the 80’s, where Cindy didn’t get out of bed for less than 10,000 a day and there was always a party. Sounds like our kinda time.
