This happened Thursday: Round up

So in keeping with the new promise to post, Thursday will be the day I round things up! This will be a place where I will share my week. From the utterly mundane to behind the scenes action.

This week has been eventful! As a freelance stylist I was booked to do two shoots on sunday. By the end of the day I had done none due to circumstances out of my control. It did get to mean though that I got to cook a pasta bake and hang out with my little bro watching Step Up to the Street (3) … essentially my favourite series of films ever – who doesn’t like it when people fight through the medium of street dance?

(some highly unsuccessful shoot packing).

Luckily my Monday was a lot smoother and we had the incredible Fluvia in the studio. We were shooting for the new issue of SLiNK and while we had known of each other for a while this was the first time we had met. Fluvia was absolutely amazing and we had a good natter about the plus size industry! Having been a model in the industry since 2003, scouted on a bus! Fluvia had a really great insight into plus size fashion and it was so refreshing to find someone who thought similarly to me! The pics are looking FAB, check out this sneaky behind the scenes shot.

With Monday’s shoot over it was home to work before a re-schedule celeb shoot on Tuesday. Luckily it wasn’t a late one so I was on my way again by 4.30 which gave me plenty of time to head home and glam up for a night out at ARCHER Street, a gorgeous cocktail bar in Soho. The downstairs bar is themed and having previously been a ski lodge in winter, the summer is all about embracing a Brazilian vibe – aptly named Brazinho, with plenty of rum based cocktails on the menu. I wore my new denim dress from River Island and my Mac Red Lippy – with which I am obsessed with but it still makes me all pouty and talk funny! Check out the snazzy drinks and my mood selfie:

Every Tuesday they have a kind of jam / open mic session, so if you love live music or want to get up and sing they have a great live band, fun atmosphere and all genres from pop to hip hop and rock all go down well. Tuesday saw a couple of great songs from the fabulous Brenda Edwards (currently the mouth on Channel 4’s The Singer Takes It All and previously of We Will Rock You – the Musical) and the incredible Nathan James – rocker extraordinaire who brought the house down.

By Wednesday morning I was pretty sleepy but excited to meet up with Debra Jones from SLiNK boutique – to chat about gorgeous plus size fashion. I had thrown on my favourite Rachel Pally maxi dress but Debra looked amazing in her print tunic with matching shoes. I must admit I gave a rather loud and embarrassing squeal as Debra always tells me she doesn’t wear dresses but she looked amazing! Check her out!

We had a really great chat and Debs was telling me about all the SLiNK boutique she wore on holiday so I will post the pics when I get them. Super proud of how lush she looks in this tunic dress. Better yet we had a really good natter about SLiNK and just like I push her… probably to her limit sometimes, she does the same to me!
