It is pretty darn hot out right now and so all I can think about is posting about keeping cool but glam, something I seriously admire in numerous other women but a trick I always feel that I haven’t quite mastered. This is why I plumped for this black, gauze top from MAT Fashion from plus size fashion website I Dare To Be.
The site very much channels, the Largen look, for those of which who have no idea what I’m talking about, think back to a University female professor or Art School Tutor and you’ve kind of nailed the look. It hangs away from the body and can be quite layered. Personally I’m a little on the short side to carry it off fully and with aplomb but the top I opted for was on of those layering pieces that those dipping their skinny jean toe in the largen look water could definitely rock.
The top has a square neckline, a shorter front with a train, dip hemmed back and some lovely lace detailing. I wanted to choose something out of my comfort zone and this piece is pretty voluminous for me as at 5’2 I usually go for something a bit more fitted or with waist definition. To get around this I teamed it with a slim fit jean to balance it out. The three quarter sleeve made this piece really comfortable and having bought MAT pieces before I know this brand works really well for me. Due to its voluminous look, I opted for a size S and there was still plenty of room so size down.
I popped a black cami underneath but the beauty of this piece is once you get into the whole layering vibe you could really work this item several ways including layering over a shift or body con / maxi dress dress to add detail or even as a beach style cover up. I think I’m going to have more fun working out different ways to wear it than anything else!
