Marisota Pop Up

It was a plus size fest today as fresh from tea with Boohoo we headed to the highly anticipated plus size pop up roadshow created by Marisota. The online retailer is spending the next four weeks travelling the country creating four pop ups. The first stop is London, they’re here until the 16th on Wells street – make sure you pop down! The pop up store is laid out beautifully and has a big clear window display to help you notice it from the street. Inside the layout is conceptual with curved clothing displays creating almost fashion enclosures. There are also accessories to accent your potential clothing purchases. There is a carefully edited selection of product that includes magifit jeans, ‘bespoke’ dresses that take into consideration your bust size and the ever popular Ava collection – the second season capsule collection from fashion stylist Mark Heyes. While you can’t ‘purchase’ to take home in store – the pop up does allow you to try the clothes on, have style advice from the Marisota team of Shapeologists (and Mark himself) and it’s just a great opportunity to get to touch something you can only normally see virtually!

Once you’ve selected your try on styles – head round the corner (there’s a massive array of shoes to play with too) to the fitting rooms which centre around a magic mirror! This mirror allows you to virtually ‘try on’ styles – without shedding a layer of clothing, you can also snap yourself in an outfit you try on and send the picture to social media or simply to yourself as a little reminder of what you liked.

We tried on so many outfits and it was great fun to get someone else’s perspective on my look! My favourite pieces though are the off-white boucle long biker jacket and a red long sleeve dress with drape and zip detailing – both from Ava by Mark Heyes. As a non trouser fan I’m even coveting the Ava monochrome trouser as they were super comfortable and extremely chic.

The roadshow is set to travel around the country with stops in Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow throughout the month. So whichever is your closest make sure you get down!

Check out our previous Marisota post earlier in the week for details of address’s and dates!
